Learning to fly is one of life's most rewarding adventures. Whether
you are considering learning for recreation or to pursue a career
in aviation, learning to fly will be one of the most exciting and
enjoyable experiences of your life.
WHY FLY AT VICTORIA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT?
- The Victoria International Airport is a medium density airport,
which means that students have the opportunity to train in a
realistic environment. The result is a practical understanding in
such areas as Air Traffic Control procedures and operating in
multi-zone airspace (including Vancouver and Seattle Terminal
Control Areas) and exposure to high traffic areas.
- Victoria has excellent training weather, with approximately
95% VFR or 'training' days.
- Our VFR training area is located just five minutes away.
- This geographical area allows for superior cross-country
training, night training and mountain flying.
- Five airports are immediately available for advanced training.
Vancouver, Nanaimo, Boundary Bay, Abbotsford and Duncan all
offer various challenges for IFR training or advanced 'bush'
training.
- There is a Transport Canada Office on site, enabling students
to write examinations locally.
