Upgrade
OBJECTIVES:
This course is designed to provide Viking Twin Otter Series 400 aircraft operators a program to assist in the upgrade of first officers to captain.
DURATION:
4 Days* (5 days if optional Final Assessment / PPC if required)
*Based on:
• Pilot prerequisites as described below,
• English proficiency training not required,
PREREQUISITES:
Pacific Sky typically sees an upgrade candidate with a minimum of 500 hours operating as second-in-command in a DHC-6 Series 400. However, it is the operators responsibility to nominate the candidate for training, as well as
provide sufficient mentoring from an operational captain after Pacific Sky training to consider them suitable for command.
This course is designed for licensed pilots with previous experience operating as
second-in-command on the DHC–6, who are proficient to the ICAO/Transport Canada
level of:
• Viking Twin Otter Series 400 Type Rating
• Aviation English (level 4)
• Commercial Pilot License (CPL)
• Multi Engine Instrument Rating (MIFR)
• Completion of the Pacific Twin Otter Series 400 Initial Training or Pacific Sky Differences Training for the Twin Otter Series 400
Note: A proficiency evaluation may be required prior to the commencement of this course to guarantee the timeline proposed herein.

Full Flight Simulator Training (FFS)
Duration: 8.0 Hours

Full Flight Simulator Evaluation (FFS-E)
Duration: 2 hours per pilot
